Potash is a major nutrient while Sulfur and Magnesium are classified as secondary nutrients. Potash enables the plant to avoid abiotic stresses while also playing a critical role in increasing flowering and fruit or grain weight. Sulfur plays three important roles; it is an ingredient of Amino acids which the food plants produce, it is a fungicide which provides protection from common fungal diseases and finally, it is also a soil amendment which causes a lowering of soil pH thus releasing fixed nutrients (such as Phosphorus).

Magnesium plays an important role in the production of chlorophyll. The application of magnesium results in plants becoming greener and this is often very helpful in case of damaged leaves due to any reason. Most soils in Pakistan lack Potash, Sulfur, and Magnesium, and therefore V- Mag is ideal to meet the deficiency of these minerals.
